Stupid Question, Can I change from BT to Sky

As my BT bill is now going to hit £69 a month (Full Fibre 900 with Halo 3+), looking to change for Sky Gigafast for £45 with Wifi Max so a decent save per month (for 18 months).
However, I don't have any kind of phone line but there is a BT Openreach connection, can I just use that, will BT let you or does Sky need to come out and do stuff?

Both BT and Sky use Openreach and it’s the same switching process regardless of having a phone service with broadband or just broadband, obviously there isn’t a phone number to help identify your connection, but that doesn’t stop a migration, so if it’s Sky you want to use , contact them , the chances are it’s only your address they will need , they do the rest , pretty soon BT will contact you saying ‘sorry you are leaving’ and ‘send back your equipment or be charged for it’ , Sky will tell you what date to connect the Sky router they will send out to you ….it takes around 10-14 days to arrange this , so 10-14 days after contacting Sky , that’s when the change takes place .In your case ,it will be the optional extra ‘Halo 3+’ that is adding a sizeable amount to your BT bill , the comparison with Sky isn’t like for like , but if the Halo3+ benefits are unwanted, then it’s obviously an unnecessary extra cost , and anecdotally it does seem difficult to get BT to remove Halo benefits once they are added , there is a minimal price difference between Sky and BT if Halo3+ is removed.
If you don’t want the hassle of trying to remove Halo3+ , simply contact Sky , online or by phone they will provide you a date when the BT service will stop and Sky service will start, all you will do ultimately is send BT back the BT router , the whole home WiFi and unbreakable BT WiFi stuff , and connect the Sky router where the BT router once was ( the router connects to the Openreach ONT , that’s the the box in the photo) , no visit is needed , it’s not difficult to unplug one router and connect another .1 -
