Not if you want uninterrupted viewing you don't!DullGreyGuy said:Router cable? Surely you connect with wifi?
Majority of people dont even have a sound bar let alone other speakers that require cables.

you must have really bad wifi, can stream both online 4k content and UHD Blu-ray rips (60GB files) without issue over wifi. Can support more than one such stream at the same timecerebus said:

Not everybody is as lucky as you as to have such excellent bandwidth , or don't want to risk drop outs right at a crucial moment whilst there watching something !0 -
I would maintain that the majority rely on wifi... having been considered a bit of an "IT guy", particularly with home entertainment, and so been called in to help with friends/family/neighbours/colleagues setups can count on one hand how many have gone for a wired connection.cerebus said:

Not really lucky either, HD required 5Mbps and 4k 15Mbps on streaming services like Netflix. The decade old WiFi 5 (aka AC) in theory supports 3.5 Gbps but even in pessimistic real world views can comfortable sustain 1Gbps and so you are talking about using 0.5% of the bandwidth.
Now not all devices are equal and I will always advise people to ditch "smart TVs" and get an external streaming device. Brand new Samsung and LG TVs would both buffer on streaming (even with ethernet) whereas both a FireStick and an older AppleTV play all content nearly instantly and never buffer. Smart TVs get worse with age too.0 -
c'mon chaps, all the OP want to know was how to mount a SKY box without all the "clever" irrelevant comments and inevitable sniping that seems to follow.
I'm sure that if they wanted all the stuff that you are promulgating then they'd have asked the question themselves and hopefully got a response that was less argumentative. Just my opinion you understand

Unfortunately there's always one who likes to willy wave and thinks their opinion is the only one that mattersmatelodave said:c'mon chaps, all the OP want to know was how to mount a SKY box without all the "clever" irrelevant comments and inevitable sniping that seems to follow.

Seems to me that Velcro and cable ties are going to be the answer here0

No chance of that, will be happy to upload a photo when done and dusted.

That extension lead deals with the power to the telly and sky box but what about the router cable, aeriel lead , sky dish lead and any speaker cables you have set up?Ms_Chocaholic said:cerebus said:How do you intend to keep all the cables neat and tidy that will dangle down from the telly and q box?
I'm quite a practical neat person and to me those stands are a horror show to try to keep anything neat
My plan was to connect them all to a extension lead then I'll only have one lead to contend with, I think there's hidden cable storage/clips on the back of the legs and I'm happy to have one trailing lead. I've already googled extension leads with thin cords but need to do more research.I did forget about the Sky dish lead i must admit but I connect the SkyQ via wifi (we have excellent cable broadband speeds) - we have a soundbar on the TV and that is sufficient for our needs and I checked and it doesn't need to connect to an aerial. So that will be 2 cables I will have coming from the TV and I will hopefully hide them inside the legs.

Well you have plenty of options to mount a bracket or fabricate one using the vesa screw holes on the back of the telly , sounds like quite a fun project!Ms_Chocaholic said:cerebus said:

Two cables is certainly manageable to hide and no doubt you will have it looking very neat once it's done
Would love to see some pics when you have done it!1
