Zopa - Eligibility Requirements & new ISA rules

Zopa still have the following in their eligibility requirements:

To open a Smart ISA, you'll need to have already opened a Smart Saver. You can do this in our Smart Savings Hub.

You must also:

  • have not paid into a cash ISA with another provider this tax year

  • have not already used up your total annual ISA allowance of £20,000 this tax year

I assumed this was because they are yet to update their webiste.  However, their customer service have confirmed this is still correct, despite me mentioning the new ISA rules in place.

I am aware providers could have their own rules on top of government rules.  However, does the above seem feasible/correct to you?  I am keen to open a Zopa ISA but remain a little puzzled by this.  Any thoughts welcome - thank you!

I expect their website isn't up to date and staff aren't up to speed with the new rules yet.

Unfortunately, banking staff have been known to give out incorrect information when it comes to ISA rules and the fact that the rules have changed recently is only going to make this more common.
