Completely agree with you.refluxer said:
I'd be surprised if that was actually the case based on how most banks/accounts operate but happy to eat my words if it isRG2015 said:Just chatted online with Zopa and they said the extension to 6 May would apply to my account.
I asked how I could check this and they said on their website.
I then asked if I could assume that future extensions would be applied to my account and they suddenly went quiet and were transferring me to someone else.
They said to keep the chat open, but there has been nothing from them for 25 minutes.
I think it would be fairly unusual for an interest bonus period to be continually extended to the benefit of the customer - in my experience, most apply for a year and then that's it. It's possible to extend it with the likes of Marcus's Online Savings Account, but they do make you reapply the bonus each time you want to do it.
The most diappointing thing is there is no mention of the bonus in their Ts&Cs or in the app.
And then to be told that if I need to check my rate and bonus period I should look on their website. At least I agree that this appears to be the only place it is actually mentioned.
As a caveat though, I have to acknowledge that Zopa's screw up on the annual interest certificate including ISA interest, must have occupied their attention today. And they corrected that pretty quickly.0 -
Just received an email from Zopa trying to persuade me to add more money to my Smart ISA. Says at the end: "The 5.08% AER (4.96% gross) variable Access ISA pot rate includes a bonus of 0.5% AER/gross fixed, which will be applied until 6th April 2025." so seems that my bonus does end in April as originally promised.1

I got the email too. So my chat yesterday saying mine went to 6 May 2025 was a load of rubbish.slinger2 said:Just received an email from Zopa trying to persuade me to add more money to my Smart ISA. But even if I stuck in £20k, 1 month would only be £8.33 lost.0
