Amsterdam - cheap places to buy souvenirs

I will be in Amsterdam next week. I want to buy a couple of souvenirs like clogs, fridge magnets, windmills etc. Can anyone recommend a shop or store that sell them at cheaper prices compared to other shops? Thanks

I'd find ones you actually like, the cost of those "tourist items" won't be massive wherever you buy them.
Aside from that I'd avoid the main station or airports, if you want stroopwafels they're best purchased in a supermarket.1 -
Virtually same tat at the same price almost everywhere, other than airports, train stations and Museumplein where it will be more expensive.
None of the items you've mentioned are more than a few euros.
Nieuwendijk, might be a few cents cheaper than buying on Damrak. Rokin (other side of Dam Square) and around the flowermarket might be a little cheaper still, but you're splitting hairs at this point.
Amsterdam is a expensive city these days, you could waste a lot of time trying to save a euro...1 -
I'm also going to Nijmegen, would you say it will be cheaper to buy souvenirs there then Amsterdam itself?0

It'll be cheaper in Amsterdam as there's so much competition. Souvenir prices haven't increased much for years.
Things like fridge magnets will be 3euros each, two for five euros. After leaving Central Station, there's dozens of tourist shops, you'll soon get a feel for it.
If you're planning on visiting attractions, the tourist cards can work out excellent value (Amsterdam card, Citicard are the main ones).
It's worth noting that lots of the main attractions are pre-book only. This started around covid time, where numbers were strictly controlled. It's now very common, the city is so busy they need to manage the volume of tourists (and it seems to be working very well for them).1 -

There are tons of shops, just take a walk around shops near Damrak for example.
Just go and find one that stocks what you want.
Prices are similar in most places, some just sell more tat than other places, so just shop around. Lots of choice. Trust me.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
