unlocking a siemens A55...how?

Does anyone know if it is possible to remotely unlock a siemens A55? I've found one website that says it's not, but then another that said it can be done, but wanted £25 to do it, so I'm a bit confused.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately they don't do the A55. If it isn't possible to get it done remotely, can anyone tell me how to get it unlocked without it costing a fortune?

OMG I am thinking of the very same thing.

I have tried most of the unlocking sites mentioned on MSE without any luck?

Anybody help us out?

It's a nuisance isn't it Spikey? I've got a lovely shiny new Samsung s300, but secretly I miss my trusty old A55 :-/
I hate the way the texting is awkward on the new phone, but my old A55 is locked to Orange, & I don't want to stay with them because I can't pick up a signal in my house.
I've been looking for unlocking websites again today & mostl of them seem to require sending the phone off to them by post...can't find anything for under £20. Don't really want to shell out that much when the phone itself isn't worth a great deal more!

Hiya, if you want I can unlock the phones for you, you will have to send a stamped address envelope, I charge £5, will post it back to you the same day.

You can trust me I will give you my Ebay details so you will see I am a trust worthy person, or if you live in Manchester just bring it to me I will do it for you.

You can only unlock these phones by using software & a cable.

So you will have to use either a mailing scheme like bagzithat's or take your phone to a "specialist" - usually you can find these at computer fairs.
