I suspect that they believe that your son was the primary driver and not you, based on his answers to the questions asked (this is the "fronted" mentioned above).

Who drove the car most, you or your son? Did he use the car to commute, or for anything work related?
He used it for leisure time see friends that's why he was on the insurance. I used it for work. Then I bought the Jaguar in Aug 2023 and used that more than the Nissan
this is going to be your issue.
you are no longer the main driver. it makes the risk a lot different to the insurer.

you need to ask them or written confirmation of why they wont cover the claim then you can go from there

if they wouldn't have covered your son as the main driver your unlikely to get much movement even after complaining to the FOS

A policy is for 1 year and declarations have to be relevant to that year only, doesn't matter what happened the prior years.

So in this policy year who was the main driver of the vehicle thats been "jacked"?
In that same policy year who was declared as the main driver?
    How old is your son?

It currently sounds that they believe you have intentionally or recklessly lied by saying you were the main driver when your son has confirmed to them that he is. As such this is "fronting" and a form of fraud. With the rules under CIDRA the insurer is entitled to void the policy, avoid any claims and retain the premiums for reckless or intentional false disclosure.

Won't he be entitled to the car back though even if there are storage fees to pay?

well from the OP. it was recovered to his house for £952. It dosent say how/who has then moved it.

depending on the condition they should return it to him and recover and costs from the OP

Given the evidence you've shared something has obviously spooked the insurance company

    This could be

Area of the UK and prevalence of 'fronting' in the region
Sons previous contact with police/insurance company and something he's said (or something in his statement following the incident)
Tip off to either police/insurance co

Out of interest was this an original Pulsar (maybe a GTi/R) or one of the modern breed of Pulsars ?

Once they've paid the fees, yes.

Did the £952  cover the storage fees and recovery to your house?  Or was that just for the recovery?

Have the insurance paid out any money on the claim?

Who took the car back to the storage facility?

You may have even bigger problems if the insurance company have also cancelled the policy.

This would need to be declared for other policies and will typically result in eye watering premiums.

OP - you really need to be proactive on this.
