Which Dell refurbished touch screen laptop would you recommend?

Options
Hi all,

I am looking for a family laptop and have been looking on Dell refurbished. My children are pre- and primary school age so will need basic usage for online homework games. I like the idea of the touch screen for my children to use some of those websites and for streaming. It will be mainly used at home.

For my use I'd like to be able to take photos and videos off my iphone, transfer them on to an external hard drive and some basic editing. I would probably benefit from some office word for work but it's not a major need. Also I may use it for some online video calls. Also just general browsing, streaming shows and social media. I would hate any slowness in the laptop.

I would love your opinion on the following 3 laptops on Dell website. With £100 between them it's hard to know which to go for -

Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 Touch £519

Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1, Standard, 14" FHD Touch (1920 x 1080), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i5 Quad (i5-8365U) 1.60 GHz, 16 GB, 256 GB, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, UK Backlit Keyboard, 64-bit Windows 10 Pro

OR

Dell Latitude 5310 Touch £419

Dell Latitude 5310, Standard, 13.2" Multi-Touch/FHD (1920 x 1080), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i5 Quad (i5-10310U) 1.70 GHz, 8 GB, 256 GB, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, UK Backlit Keyboard, 64-bit Windows 10 Pro

OR

Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1 Touch £619

Dell Latitude 5300 2-in-1, Standard, 13.3" FHD Touch (1920 x 1080), Webcam, 1x Intel Core i7 Quad (i7-8665U) 1.90 GHz, 32 GB, 512 GB, No Optical, Intel Integrated Graphics, UK Backlit Keyboard, 64-bit Windows 10 Pro

They also have a great deal on precision laptops but they aren't touch screen and I don't think i need that level of power. I am looking at dell only because to add in other brands has overwhelmed me! I am open to suggestions of other brands too if you felt they would give me what I needed.

All advice and thoughts welcome!!

thanks
maria

I would go for the Dell Latitude 7400. The cheaper model only has 8GB RAM and this could end up being a constraint on the things you do.  The 7400 also has a marginally bigger screen than the other laptops, so this would be of benefit because of how much you will be using the laptop screen (if it was just for occasional use whilst travelling, then the smaller screen would be fine)

    Thanks Bonhomie,

I ended up buying this one this afternoon before your comments on the refurb website with 40% off via topcashback, so it worked out at around £380 which I thought was a pretty decent deal!

I have 14 days cooling off to change my mind if it really was a terrible choice, i welcome the feedback! Otherwise for anyone else the 40% off was an amazing offer if you can grab it for any of the 2 in 1s.

    HI,

this question might warrant a new post so can move if needed, but my new laptop has arrived and looks good :) it has a little bit of the rubber off the 'feet' at the bottom of the laptop but aside from that looks good.

I comes with little to no instructions. A leaflet included says press F11 for partial operating systems, but I don't know whether this applies to mines or not? I left it and it went ahead and set up windows 10 automatically. It went through the set up and is working well, but everytime i start it the F11 option appears and questions whether to run with dell recovery. There is also a Dell recovery icon on the desktop. Is there something special i should do when setting up a refurbished laptop? i assume that Dell will have wiped all previous owners' info so I don't need to do that? I'm struggling to find anywhere online to give me directions!

    thanks

Sounds like the usual dell bloatware that you should disable on start up and running in the back ground

Thanks Cerebus, I had to google bloatware- I'd never heard of it. Would you recommend deleting and how would I do that please?
