Will signed by not dated.

Could someone advise please.  Will for parent is dated at the top of the will and signed in the presence of two solicitors who drew up the will but the SIGNATURE is not dated.  Is this going to be an issue

    (for England)
Although it will be legally valid even if it is not dated, it is advisable to ensure that the will also includes the date on which it is signed.

Why on earth would a firm of solicitors NOT include date of signing?  The top of the first page states the date.  Mine has a date of signature which is why I am querying it.

You would have to ask the solicitors that

My parent has now passed and we are going through paperwork.  They did this themselves without any input from anyone but all the advice is to go to a solicitor for a will which they did.  Its a reasonable size firm as well. Do NOT try and attempt yourself and yet I have spotted this.  Have done some googling and it doesnt seem to be an issue but I relaly dont want any problems furthe down the line.

You've said the first page is dated, so I think you're worrying about nothing, unless your parent made a habit of making and remaking wills - which doesn't seem to be the case.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

Thank you all - panic over.  My own solicitor who we have just appinted to help with probate in an advisory capacity has said its fine too.  I didnt know how quickly they would come back to me hence the question.

BTW - MSE were first with the answer as I knew you would be.

If you'd googled on your question you'd have got an even speedier answer!
