Voxi offer on the Google Pixel, order failed

Okay using my mobile I tried to buy a Google Pixel 8 on the Voxi website. I put in all my information and got to the payment method and chose Paypal. Txn failed?? Why? I don't know but I checked my paypal account and it said 'Authorisation Pending'. Apparently when I contacted Paypal they said the problem had occured at the Merchants end and they i.e. Voxi have to accept my paypal txn using a reference (which paypal have given me) for their paypal account paypalpayments@vodafone.com or reject it and this could theoretically be pending for up to 1 month if they, Voxi do nothing!! 

So this must surely have been an automated process otherwise why offer Paypal as a method of payment amongst others.

I then tried to buy the phone via the Voxi website and the web form kept failing i.e. after filling in all the info (this included creating a login) it would do nothing or not progress and then would say when I retried that I was already registered (so a login must have been created)!! So then I tried simply logging in on the standard Voxi login page but hit a snag and the page then said I needed to verify my login by them sending me a code. Yes you guessed that code never arrives. What a horrendous customer experience. I'm down £400 and no idea when I'm going to get the money back.

Meanwhile I cannot access this money until Voxi decide to release/reject the txn, have no idea what is going to happen so I'm down nearly £400 and no phone!! Contacting Voxi and trying to speak to someone is impossible as there is no number for non Voxi/Vodafone users you just get cut off.

Are they so disorganised that they allow customers to submit orders/fill in online order forms which go nowhere. I wasted hours on this today. I've used the Paypal online payment system for donkey's years to pay for anything from socks to big value items and this is the first time this has happened to me.

I suspect the issue is the that every version of the Pixel 8 is out of stock on their site. Beyond that no one apart from them can tell you why the transaction failed or why you cannot verify your account. The PayPal credit is just on hold, you are not "down" any money, it will be released in a few days.

Transaction failed because someone else purchased the lastone in stock moments before
you completed your order?

I have had that previously, showed many items in stock but the purchase failed and refreshing the page
showed zero stock.
