I’ve also had to return a part once , wrong one ordered, my fault, and support was actually pretty quick in the chat. Return + refund went through without drama.

I wouldn’t jump to “fake tracking” just yet. Autodoc is legit, it’s more that cross-border shipping with Evri = zero info for a while. Painful, but not unusual.

Of course, Evri are impossible to contact, and I'm concerned that is why Autodoc has used them to generate a spurious tracking number for a parcel they haven't delivered to Evri. Does anyone have experience of this, or advice?

There will be customs charges on that value. The parcel would go to customs to calculate charges  , which Evri would arrange to pay on your behalf and collect the parcel. . That would all take time. 

Expect a bill from Evri for the charges plus a handling fee.
