As title, moving in 5 weeks and the boiler needs replacing. Looking at Solar and battery, with an ASHP but will this do our hot water as well?

Would you just replace the GCH, add solar, or solar + ASHP?

This is a long term home so happy to invest for the long term. TIA

An ASHP will do DHW, and during the summer months, you could see a COP as high as 10. During the winter, it will be much lower.
There is a subsection for heat pumps where several experienced owner lurk. Would be worth asking the question(s) over there - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/heat-pumps
If the current £7500 grant and relaxed rules wrt insulation was available last year, I would have seriously considered a heat pump rather than a replacement gas boiler.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.
