Rolling contract when going abroad question

Hi all, I'll be going to Spain in May for a week and my 3 contract doesn't include EU roaming.
It will cost a fiver a day to get it with them (extortionate in my opinion), so I'm thinking of getting a second SIM to use during the trip.
Lebara have a rolling 30 day contract that includes 5GB of international data for a fiver a month.
Am I right in thinking I can get this deal, pay a fiver, use the SIM in Spain and then cancel it as soon as I come back without incurring any extra fees or charges?
Thanks!

i think you still have to give 30d notice?  (I'm not on Lebara), so budget for 2 x £5.. although maybe if you're feeling brave you could give notice straight away and still use until end of notice period.

Personally i use ESIMS which will be around £5 for  aweek in spain.... athough that won't work if you want to make voice calls.

You could order a pay as you go sim from Smarty. They allow you to roam at no extra cost in Europe up to a maximum of 12GB and you can ring and text home for free.

They have an offer at the moment where you can get 50GB for £8 (of which you can use 12GB in Spain). You could just use this for one month and make sure it doesn't automatically top up after 1 month.

With lebara you just pay for 30 days upfront, by default it will auto renew but you can switch that off in settings or you could make sure you pac/stac before the end of 30 days.
However to benefit from their free roaming you need to use an equivalent amount in uk before going, it is designed for use primarily in uk so best to order well in advance and use your full allowance for three months before you go, then you will have 30 days' allowance to use while away.

"When roaming in the EU, your roaming usage cannot be greater than your average UK usage within a 120 day period. If Lebara believes your EU roaming usage is greater than your average UK usage, you will receive a warning, followed by a surcharge:"

That's correct. Lebara found that too many people were getting a sim for the 30 days purely for roaming purposes and then cancelling.

Given that they were doing deals such as 99p per month for 3 or more months it was hardly surprising that people were taking advantage of the offer

In addition to Smarty, you could also get a Tesco Mobile pay as you go sim. I believe there is no fair usage cap on data. This could be good if you think you'll use more than 12GB over a week.

That's a very good deal, 25GB for £10 (w/ a Clubcard) will be hard to better......although you'll have to go some to use 25GB in a week.
