BT Line Saver

Hi
Hope it’s ok to post in this Thread.
My BT line saver ends on the 27th of April this year. I will go from paying £10.23 a month
to £32.23 a month. I contacted BT to see if it was still an option to pay the line rental saver, however they have decided to discontinue the service. I liked the fact that I could pay in advance, and also save a month of the line rental. I called today to ask if there were any offers available. But as usual only for new customers. My contract runs out next April 2025.
If I was to terminate now it would cost me £140. Is it worth sticking it out till next April or leaving and trying to find something better ?

If you terminate it now it will work out (near enough) to the same between now and April next year. So you might as well stick. you may be able to get a new deal when your current one is nearly out.

Many existing customers renew for less than new customers pay, combination of luck for example two years + ago personalised offers via account dashboard offered cheaper renewal than was currently paying + many avoided that years inflation related increase + element of astuteness for example this year certainly up until last month best renewal prices were offered via CS + some customers were aware best to avoid renewing until March 1st onwards to avoid this years inflation linked increase.
+ Fibre 2 customers are being offered upgrade to Full Fibre 100 at no extra cost when Full Fibre is available to those particular customers.0 -
TBH , unless another network provider is available, where they need customers as quick as possible and likely offer a unsustainable ‘deal’ to get your custom , it’s unlikely you will recoup the £140 in a year ,
As far as Line Rental Saver , TBH the £20 a year saving by paying £220 upfront works out at £1.66 a month discount , and so I would argue is hardly a deal breaker as far as considering changing ISP on that issue alone , if it is that much of an issue , many bank accounts allow you to have little ‘saving’ sub accounts ( saving pots ) create one and transfer £220 into it , then when your BT bill arrives, and instead of being £10 a month it is £30 a month , transfer £20 back from the saving pot to the main account, to offset the £30 taken by the BT DD , that way your main account balance is exactly the same as when you had LRS ( apart from the £20 a year/£1.66 a month discount ) but a little more ‘work’ for you to do , but it replicates LRS …..TBH its hardly work the grief but in my opinion LRS was hardly work having either .0 -
