    Anyway, I have opened one this tax year for the next one, intending to fund after 6 April.

    With ISA rates over 5% and base rate only just above I don't think you'll be likely to get any better deals than those available now. If anything the nearer we get to a base rate cut the lower ISAs will be

    They often seem to have good rates towards the end of the tax year which then reduce one the new tax year starts.  Funny thing that.

    Maybe previously but certainly not the case at the moment. With the base rate at 5.25% and likely to be dropping the number of higher rates are likely to be less not more
