New security scanners

I believe the new scanners are now operational at Newcastle & Leeds as well as other locations. Am I correct in thinking that one can now take a pre bought bottle of wine through security and on to a plane in carry on luggage?

What does the airport website tell you?0

I would check with your departure airport that all scanners are compliant.
Whilst the Government trumpeted that by June 2024 the old restrictions on liquids would be lifted, it hasn’t been an easy change for airport operators. The cost, the actual availability of the new scanners, and the necessary change to the screening area (due to their size and weight) have added complexity to the full roll out. I think LCY and JER are complete but others are still trialing one or two new screening machines which could mean your screening line is still using the old screening technology. More should be on line by the summer.
If the new screening machines are operational at your airport then you can take your wine through and have in your cabin bag. Just keep in mind that you can’t however drink it on board the aircraft!1 -
Fine if you are just flying one leg, but don't get caught out if you have to transit another airport where the 100 ml restrictions are still in place.1

Definitely check with the departure airport. Many airports are in the process of upgrading to the new scanners, but that doesn't automatically mean they will yet be fully compliant and able to let passengers take more than 100ml liquids.
