Microsoft has made life complex by renaming Hotmail to Outlook... previously it was clearer because Outlook was an application to connect to any email server and Hotmail was their all in one solution which gave you an @hotmail.com email address.

Personally, webmail is a real pain but then I tend to work with half a dozen open browser windows and each has a dozen open tabs so finding my email in that lot is a pain -v- just cmd+tab to cycle to my email client

Agreed, to make it more fun you can still create @hotmail.com email accounts (as well as outlook.com ones).

Just a thought, have you tried having several windows (browser, T'bird, Outlook) open on your screen simultaneously? Perhaps overlapping or tiled? Swapping between applications quickly is pretty much why Windows was invented.
As I commented previously I use Microsoft Edge as a Browser and have several tabs ( BT Email, MSE and others open) at the same time so I just click on whichever one I want to use.

Mozilla Thunderbird and New Outlook are currently pinned to my bottom taskbar. To access them I have to leave Microsoft Edge and click on Thunderbird or Outlook.

I haven't been able to work out how to get New Outlook and Thunderbird as a Edge tab.

Edge is a web browser so you wouldn't get Thunderbird as a webbrowser tab as it's an application not a website.

Outlook you should be able to access via outlook.com and then have that as a tab... as mentioned previously its confused by MS' naming strategy

If you only ever want to use browser based tools, you will limit yourself somewhat. Switching between a browser window and, for example, a mail client is not onerous, particularly if you use ALT+TAB

Thank you. I didn't know about ALT+TAB. And yes it is a lot quicker than waiting for BT Email to work in my Browser Window. I did click on the email notification about your reply to my post and after waiting for over 2 minutes for the email to open up I gave up and came directly onto MSE to read your response. It shouldn't be like that.

I'm wasting so much time waiting for BT emails to work.
