We did a JISA for our daughter with the child benefit while we received it but she got that at 18. She now has some of it in a LISA and some accessible for 'opportunities' - it is not to be spent for day to day stuff at uni. She is a sensible girl so we had no qualms about her getting access at 18. Our gift to her in terms of pensions is education about how to make good choices and showing her that early retirement is possible. She is the only child on husband's side of the family so there may be inheritance but hopefully they will spend most/all of it on themselves. We will help where we can once she is out in the big wide world after graduation.
