I’m not on a meter have 4 people in house with 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. My bill has gone up by nearly 18% but average rise is 7% for Severn Trent . How can it be so high. I’m sure year before 23/24 it went up by 14%. Do they know how much I am using

If you have no meter, they have no idea how much you are actually using. So the amount they a billing you will be based on the council tax band that the house is in.aginwalla said:Do they know how much I am using1 -
Having a water meter for over 30 years in every house I've lived in has saved me a fortune.1

The rises are always higher for non-metered properties. That's just the way it is, I'm afraid.aginwalla said:I’m not on a meter have 4 people in house with 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. Unhappy wrinkles
We are now in 2025, 😞 Had my water bill this morning 😞😞 obviously it has gone up was, £622.01 last year now £806.41. This is an increase of nearly 30%. Two pensioners in house both over 70 how is this right. Also I’m sure Severn Trent are charging us twice for waste water.0 -
If you check on their web page it tells you what prices are increasing by for 2025/26 unmetered it’s going up by 23%

RV bills are NOT based on CT bands. They are based on the rateable value of the property.TadleyBaggie said:
