  • He keeps try to get me to call him, but I keep asking him to respond, by email, to the queries I've sent him. I want it all in writing - he clearly doesnt!
I just don't know who to speak to about this, is there some sort of advice association or governing body, should it be trading standards or my local council? I just don't know where to start!
Thanks SO much everyone who has answered, I am so grateful xxx

I think £28,500 is a lot for what's been done. Reusing most of the tiles saved them buying new ones, getting them down to the ground and away, and saved them the work of getting new tiles up there. Also single lap tiles are the quickest and easiest to strip off a roof, and put back. You also need a lot less roofing battens.
The lead work looks rough. Not dressed down properly, and should have been cleaned up and patination oil put on.
The pointing looks like cement mortar, instead of line mortar.
The problem is whether you really agreed to the price for the work. Is the company a member of the FMB?
