Ok, been to the bank but staff was not very helpful.
The problem now is still how to make payment. What I did today was to withdraw money from my savings acc (also with Llyods) by filling up a withdrawal form and then paying into my credit card account by filling up another pay-in form. Asked the staff on how to do this payment online and she doesn't know how to show me. I wouldn't want to be queuing up at the bank every time I want to pay my credit card bill.
Anyone with Llyods account and also the Airmiles Duo credit card care to share the method of paying in? Maybe it will be stated on the statement that I will receive in the coming weeks but I'm making a few big purchases this coming few days so I would really like to know how I can pay my credit card bill online. Thanks in advance.0 -
Don't worry about how to make the payment. Your statement will tell you all you need to know about how to make a payment.
All you need to know to make an online payment are the account nbr and sort code (which are on the statement)to pay and then put your own 16 digit card number as the reference, but bear in mind that you'll need to pay up to 5 working days prior to the due date to ensure payment gets their in time.0 -
You can sometimes pay by phoning the number on the back of your card and using a debit card, this is quite convenient if you don't have access to the internet or any paperwork etc.0

2) view your current acc statement
3) click on Transfers and Payments
4) then look for > Payment / Manage your bills online <
5) Bottom of page, >View Demo OR View current participating companies OR Receive bills online <
Hope this helps you.0 -

You mean the number to call when the card is lost/stolen? Cos that's what stated at the back of my card...0 -

Ok, I've just received my statement. The instructions on how to make the payment by internet banking is not clear as well. It just says, in Internet Banking ..go to "Transfers and Payments" and follow the instructions. Basically, is it the same step as paying another person by BACS, but with the bank's name as beneficiary name, sort code and then the account number? There's a Bank Giro Credit slip but no idea which number is which...
I guess I have to do it the manual way, ie going to the bank. They really should have an online tutorial on how to use the internet banking for newbies like me.0 -
Update: I've managed to pay from my HSBC account...but still couldn't figure out how to pay from Lloyds. Seriously, I think Lloyds internet banking is quite bad. HSBC is so much easier. Glad I didn't stick with 1 bank.
I have a new question now regarding the credit limit. Say, if I have £750 credit limit available for me to spend and my current statement is £0 but I make a payment of £100, does that mean I will now have £850 credit to spend? Is there any charge for this?0 -
Hi, to make a payment to your Airmiles Duo card from your LTSB current account by internet banking:
1) Log in
2) Click on your current account
3) Transfers & Payments (on your left)
4) Under "Payment", click on "Click here to add a new recipient to the list"
5) Choose "Pay a bill"
6) Type in "LTSB Airmiles Duo", then click on "Find Company"
7) Click on "LTSB AIRMILES DUO AMEX CREDIT CARD"
8) Type in your 15-digit LTSB American Express card number
Alternatively, you can make a payment using the Sort Code & A/C number provided in your Bank Giro Credit by
Steps 1-4 as above
5) Pay another person
6) Fill in the fields as:
Pay to: Lloyds TSB
Sort code: 77-29-00
Account: 00000000
Reference: Your 15-digit AMEX card number
Since mine is a LTSB Airmiles Duo as well, I assume the Sort Code an A/c number is the same for yours, but no harm in double checking your Bank Giro Credit slip.
For your next question, if you pay more than what you owe, you will have a positive balance (i.e. £850 to spend in your example above). However, you CAN only pay up to £750 in any one transaction. That means you can't purchase a flight ticket of £800 with your credit card online. However, if you were to purchase, say, a fridge of £500 and a TV of £300, you can, provided they are done on two seperate transactions and not a combined one. You will not be charged for being in the positive, but definitely not encouraged.
Hope I've made it clear for you!0 -
taless, I couldn't thank you enough! That's very helpful!
There is absolutely no mention of such instructions whatsoever on the statement, which drives me mad. A simple instruction like yours will save me (and probably other new credit card users) a lot of trouble.
And regarding the credit limit and positive balance, have you done this before or has it been mentioned anywhere on their website? Just wanna make sure...
Thanks a lot, taless!0
