I use PayPal, link to bank account and a credit card I rarely use.

For bank switches the yearly direct debit from https://smalldirectdebit.co.uk/ is great, as you are only charged once a year, so you can cancel it after the switch has gone through and you have received the switch bonus, and will only have been charged once.
