You could get a new account and switch to it, which can be done online. And later use whatever method is best for combining the two accounts into one
I'm assuming that would mean a hard search on the credit file?

Chase don’t do a hard search. Quick and easy to set up also

Yes, I have an existing 123 Account with Santander and I don’t want to lose that. So I opened a new everyday current account with them and switched into that. It was set up pretty much instantly but they did do a hard search on both Experian and Transunion ( but not Equifax ).
    Best Regards,

It does but I probably wouldn’t stress over a single search.

Searches only matter if you plan to apply for big credit, such as a mortgage or large loan, in the next 6 - 12 months

I’m in the process of switching a Lloyds account to Natwest to get the Natwest offer. Switch completes next Monday 8th April. Bonus supposed to be paid within 7 days.

Could I set it up now with Santander to switch my new Natwest account to them at the furthest point down the line it lets me select? Leaves time to get the Natwest bonus in. Just so I’ve applied before Santander take the offer down.

Hi guys, I applied for 2 santander accounts for me and my partner on 26th March and we got the standard application in process email that same day, but since then we've heard nothing.  Does anyone know how long it will take before Santander will tell us whether our accounts are opened?
