Fruity Oaty Bars are energy bars but Octopus should not be selling them.

We don't watch adverts, rarely watch live TV for that very reason.

Glad we can give Einstein and BG a miss.

That said everything die have to be dumbed down to the lowest level possible, perhaps that speaks volumes

Likewise - if I'm watching something where I can't skip the ads then I mute the sound.
If I'm listening to the radio (ie. in my car) then I swap stations or switch off.
The friendly+regional+condescending+excited tone of adverts is just plain annoying.

I just tune them out - I mostly listen to commercial stations so faffing around changing station every time ads come on would be more annoying than just ignoring them! (I’d also spend more time changing radio station than concentrating on driving, which is probably sub-optimal!)

I listen to the radio mostly on my PCs and have a script that I run when an adbreak starts and will unmute the volume after they have finished.

Turn your boiler (flow) temperature down - Well, yes IF your boiler can do that AND your radiators are appropriately sized. Should your radiators be just big enough to warm the house at a flow temperature of 70°C, turning the boiler down to 60°C or even 50°C could result in the boiler running all day and fail to heat the property. End result, more gas being burnt.
I don't think anyone was actually suggesting that it be run for more hours. I don't think you can call it bad advice because it can be willfully misinterpreted.

I did run into a problem though, I found that it could cause the boiler to go into a distinct state where it used 51W of additional electricity. That's the same price as 178W of gas, which is significant at my low gas usage.

    Statements such as this

Enjoy 100% renewable electricity with your new fixed E.ON Next tariff.

    How?

Until the grid is 100% renewable it is never going to happen.

I get cheesed off with the EDF/EON  adverts claiming that they supply 100% renewable energy - if you ignore the small print !!
