The edit button is a cog-like icon near the top right corner of your post, but you don't get editing rights until you have been a member of MSE for a certain length of time, and have made certain number of posts. It's a combination of both, but nobody knows what. If the icon is there, then edit your post. If it isn't there, copy the content of your post and paste it into a new post and edit it to make it readable and comprehensible.

They can't edit posts yet but I already I told this OP exactly how to do this (will take them minutes) in my earlier reply.

Edit is now the three full stops or ellipsis top right of the post.

Hi all really need some legal advice,

I have 16 parking tickets from VCS for parking in my own space at my rented property.

I have always displayed a permit but this expired in June 2022 and I have not received a new permit from block management after trying numerous times to get an updated permit sending letters (I have copies of) and emails. (Apparently new permits are hand delivered yearly).

In January I received a court letter for small claims I contacted my estate management company who told me it is block management who deal with the permits and they would send all my details on to them. I did not return small claims form as I assumed this was being dealt with by estate/block management.

18th March bailiffs were at my door handed me a enforcement notice. Immediately I contacted via email estates management again who told me all details had been passed on they copied block management into the email so I decided to email myself when they responded they said they have received nothing from estate management regarding this!

I have emails from estates which says they are lying and all my correspondence regarding court was sent to them.

Due to these delays and lack of communication this has now gone to debt bailiffs and my estate manager after speaking with VCS are saying they cannot do anything about the previous tickets except issue me a new permit.

BM advised I would be exempt from any other tickets whilst I received my new permit (how ever I was issued another 3 tickets which they apologised for and VCS have removed)

I sent of the small claims form however now I have to fill out a n244 form to apply for my issue to go to court.

DC legal have written to me to say they are willing to settle the balance at £1335 instead of £1445 (the balance on the debt enforcement letter was £1924) looks like they have taken legal fees of.

Do I have a chance if I go to court?

My point is I live here which estate management have already stated in a email that I am authorised to park here I have not been issued a new permit?

I have email proof that I have been actively trying to get a permit.
I have lots of emails going back and forth trying to sort this permit out I also have an Appeal I sent last year to VCS advising I have no updated permit they wanted proof I had received a updated permit I could not provide this.

If I pay the £108 to reinstate my defence with the N244 form do I have a chance it’s caused me so much stress sorry for the extra long discussion it’s complex but I have no legal knowledge my tenancy agreement says nothing about a permit and I didn’t even know the permits renewed every year!

This would be better on the parking tickets forum.  I'll ask for it to be moved.

But be prepared for people to ask if you read the newbie stickies at the top of the forum page.
