IMO Q4 battery - miss selling?

MSE recommended this mobile and it met my needs, and that of my family, so I bought three. One key feature was the ability to change the battery.
I have recently tried to buy a new battery. Tesco, where I purchased the phones, says it does not sell these batteries. So I searched the web with no luck. None of the specialist battery suppliers can match it.
So I contacted Verve (IMO's UK site) to ask if they supply them, or can tell me who does.
Initially they just replied that they do not sell the batteries.
I contacted them again and repeated the question 'can you tell me who does sell them or make them'.
This time they replied that they cannot recommend  any as its not on their approved supplier list???!!!
So why are they selling phones with supposedly replaceable batteries that are not on their approved supplier list???
As they pride themselves for customer support this disproves their claim.
Also to sell a product that claims, as a feature, the replaceable battery and then not be able to offer one or suggest where one can be purchased, seems to me to be a FALSE claim.

I would try looking at the battery & the info on the back of it. Then type numbers etc into google. As it maybe that there are compatible batteries.

Failing that, pop to a local mobile phone repairer. They should be able to advise you.

As suggested, get the details of the battery and start checking online, especially Chinese tat sites like Ali Express.

Get the spec sheet for the phone, find the battery specs and maybe fit  smaller one if you can hobble it together.

Online it says it is lithium Ion so you are looking at 3.7v to 4.2v the volt amps will determine how long it lasts.

I have recycled old drone batteries for projects, I don't have that phone but I imagine they might be smaller and same voltage.

I would never buy an android phone, you can get them free without contract or anything.
