Blue Badge Holders at the Royal Berkshire Hospital - APCOA PCNs
Comments

Learning curve continues!! Following receipt of the 3rd letter from APCOA requesting information we had already posted to them, we rang them (what else is there to do this weather!!!!???). Surprisingly helpful, apparently at RBH wherever you park you need to follow the same procedure as if you are parking in the multi storey (ie go to reception and register your disabled badge). They also acknowledged that the signage in the outlying disabled parking spaces does not mention this little detail !!!!!!! & No they have not written off the charges yet, I'm sure they will think of a few more reasons not to yet.

No-one rings a PPC.
Never do that. Please don't say you told them or implied who was driving?
But this was interesting:apparently at RBH wherever you park you need to follow the same procedure as if you are parking in the multi storey (ie go to reception and register your disabled badge). They also acknowledged that the signage in the outlying disabled parking spaces does not mention this little detail !!!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well - good news is the 2nd fine has (eventually!!!!!) been successfully appealed, BUT...........just when I thought I was understanding what is to be done (register the badge for a year), the letter states you need to do it each and every time you park. Also, we still have no idea what they are doing with the first one (they are supposed to be looking into it at the same time but we haven't heard. Guess I'm going to have to appeal the refusal. Zut alors!!!!1

As Coupon says ... INTERESTING
It's game set and match now .... One would have thought that the RBH would have ensured the signs were correct ..... THEY DID NOT.
Suggest a short sweet letter to the RBH saying that as the signs cannot form a contract due to missing information, request they cancel the charge immediately
and confirm by email or in writing by post.
I would also ask how many disabled badge holdrs have had the same problem ?
The RBH is wholly responsible for the agents they employ
No point in talking to the Parking company and certainly NOT TO PAY THEM

THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR THE RBH, they have already admitted the signs failoutpatientRBH said:Well - good news is the 2nd fine has (eventually!!!!!) been successfully appealed, BUT...........just when I thought I was understanding what is to be done (register the badge for a year), the letter states you need to do it each and every time you park. Also, we still have no idea what they are doing with the first one (they are supposed to be looking into it at the same time but we haven't heard. Be it is one, two or 100 tickets THE SIGNS FAIL and no action can be taken
As said before, the RBS are responsible for their agents and should ensure all signs comply. A failing by the RBH and for those like you, the RBH should require the parking company to refund those who paid

Refund???
It's spelt 're*und - because with PPCs there is never any 'F in refund.'3 -
