MBNA Savings account

This week I opened a MBNA 1 year savings account. It's the first time I have had a decent amount of money to save so did some research and this seemed to be a good one.
On the link sent from MBNA they recommended that I downloaded the app - which I did - but you can only connect credit card and loan accounts to it.
Call me paranoid, but I wanted to see the money there in an account or app. I contacted the call centre and the first guy I spoke to was really helpful, explained that the savings service was quite a new thing and they were still setting up the app etc but, to put my mind at rest, he recommended I be put through to the dedicated savings team. This, unfortunately, was a completely different story. The operator I spoke to there said there were no plans to make the savings visible, either through an app or online banking, at least 'not as far as we've been told anyway'; she was completely dismissive of my concerns and could give me no reassurance. I then asked if I could close the account and get the money out (it's within the initial 14 days where I could still add more if I wanted) but was told no, because it was more than £1,000 I wasn't allowed access. She then disconnected the call!
If I wasn't paranoid before, I am now!
Anyone out there had a similar experience?

Maybe I'm missing something - each to their own etc - but I really don't see the problem here.
It's a fixed rate, fixed term account with a limited funding window. What's the benefit of being able to view the account online - either through an app of via an online portal?
All you'd see is that the account status was exactly the same as the last time you looked.
It's not as though you can do anything with the account or the money until maturity.
And it does state quite clearly in the account details that there is no right to cancel with this account.1 -
App, App, App.Two types of people on here.Thank god, No app.Where is the App.I Found 3 old savings books during a clear out last week. The oldest was from 1972.I like an App, I like a contact number also.Avoided Smart save as has no telephone number.0
