Do you know where tyou were at the time of the alleged offence? If so, do you have proof? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Send the Garage a SAR for CCTV/images taken at that date and time; and, copies of any correspondence between the Garage and VARS/or other companies, which includes your VRM.Dino1990 said:It states on the letter 31.01.24 16:16. I'm wondering where they even get any reg plate number because there is not one on the photo1 -
Very little chance they will still have the CCTV on file nearly two months afterwardsCastle said:

I was at work at that day. I usually finish at 17.15 but tomorrow will check in the system what time I finished on that exact day. Will contact the garage.0

Get a letter from your boss to verify that you were at work, on work premises at the time of the offence and that your vehicle was at those premises. If it shows on your work CCTV, even better. You have then proven that it is mistaken identity and then you can demand answers. Had similar happen when someone 'chose' my vehicle to be the culprit of a hit and run. Police gave them my insurance details and I knew nothing until I had a NIP for leaving the scene of an accident. I proved the vehicle had no damage at all, and that it was at work at the time of the incident. The insurers hinted that the complainant had a fraud marker on them, so likely a dodgy claim anyway! Photos and proof from your employer they will have great difficulty proving otherwise. If you have any issues, I suggest contacting UK Bike Theft Awareness (ukbiketheft dot com) and see what they say, as they deal with these things often.2

Normally you would probably be right, but given that the Garage/VARS are claiming that a criminal offence has taken place, you would have thought they would keep the evidence of the offence.la531983 said:
