It does if you supply all the requested information.Grumpy_chap said:Did the HPI check you did before purchasing include cover for error?
OP says he did not complete the VIN section on the HPI check application.
HPI says:
You must supply us with the Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM) and the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to be eligible for maximum cover available under the HPI Guarantee.

2021 not even an oil and filter change?ppl210 said:
Service history to date
2020 SCH 16miles
2020 run in service 3281miles
2022 service 12908 miles
2023 service 15877 miles
Seems to tie in with .
when they sold it in Nov 2021 with mileage inaccuracy and warranty void
If the vehicle had not found it's way back to WBAC no one would ever have been the wiser.

Could have been:
2020 (December) service
2022 (January) service
OR it could be too long between the services.
Do these cars have the "Condition Based Servicing"?0 -
Warranty work possibly, servicing no chance. Some of the 'mileage correction' gadgets are really sophisticated these days and require a physical look-see.Iceweasel said:Any BMW dealer doing a service or warranty work on the car would have picked up on any mileage discrepancy immediately.
This is an M car bought outside the dealer network. 99.9% chance it has been clocked / not serviced / accident damaged / some story behind it.0 -
Do I have a case against WBAC? Do I accept the car back and go through the dealer who sold it to me?

Their T&C's would probably allow them to withdraw the offer on a matter as serious as this. Ultimately only a court can decide but you have basically tried to sell them (on the face of it) a clocked car.ppl210 said:

BMWs tend to have 2 year, 18000 mile service intervals. The services do look odd, I've never had a run in service, and why was it serviced again in 2023 given the 2 year intervals?Grumpy_chap said:

Can you take the car to BMW and get them to read the mileage on the ECU and see what it actually is?
It certainly sounds like a miles/km thing but you're probably not going to get WBAC to back down on that without evidence.
I'd be collecting the car from them again and selling elsewhere anyway.
