To add some actual legal advice to this thread, default is that matrimonial assets are split 50/50 but you haven't given us details of ages, income, duration of relationship etc.
Either way, putting some aside now does nothing, it's still considered a matrimonial asset. If it does work out, try and figure things out and get a consent order. Just because she may or may not be primary carer it doesn't mean she gets the house automatically, it's just that the needs of the minor children are considered as a factor as to how to split the assets.
And don't forget the pensions!0
