IIWY I'd try it with some wired headphones  for while and see if the problem goes away.

Hooray, problem was 3G after all (although have to say when I download a programme I thought my phone would then switch to streaming, that's a mystery to me.  However, I went into a mobile phone shop and, as Newcad mentioned above, the guy went into my Mobile Networks and added LTE/    He said this was the lowest level of 4G and that I should contact Lebara to get it properly updated.

Since he did this, the downloaded and even streaming podcasts have worked perfectly.

Thanks to all who helped out :)

Glad to hear that you sorted it out, to your satisfaction..
However you do seem to still be confused between Downloads and Streaming.
Downloads are saved to your phone's memory and you listen to them using a player on your phone, there is no 3G/4G/or wifi signal involved in that listening.
You can listen to the downloaded content even when you have no signal at all.
The fact that switching on 4G has cured your problem tells us that you are still Streaming content, and that the Streaming has improved now that you have turned on 4G.
Think of it as the difference between watching TV as it is broadcast (Streaming) or watching a video-tape of a programme that you had recorded (Downloaded) earlier.
You can watch the tape even when there is no TV signal.

I like the analogy of streaming being like having a shower (which requires a STREAM of water) and downloading being like having a bath where you fill the bath and then if the water company turn off the supply you can still have the bath - albeit a cold bath if you wait too long!

But it depends how one's mind works I guess - some people seem to find analogies confuse them even more rather than making it clearer!

I think the original poster is switching between the bath and the shower at the same time :dizzy:
