We’ve pursued Easyjey for EC261 , they initially said no but I’m not prepared to let it go. EasyJet have never really stated responsibility although at the airport when we were denied boarding they rearranged flights for us for the next day.
At that point they clearly accepted responsibility , can’t get then to do it now. We all need EJ to admit responsibility so we can get the EC261 money from them and them claim on insurance for the extra cost
should be pretty clear but it hasn’t been
On what grounds are they rejecting the claim?
  • It is indeed a flight number for Rome to Gatwick  but it wasn’t used on February 4th . And it was the flight home from Rome 6572 they wouldn’t let us on.

EZY6572 operated on 04FEB24 between Rome FCO and Gatwick LGW
    STD 11:40 ATD 11:55 STA 13:25 ATA 13:24
Operated on G-EJCK an A320 aircraft.

Closest dates that EZY6507 FCO LGW operated to 04FEB24 was on 08FEB24.

Was your boarding card given to you at FCO/Rome or had you checked in sometime before hand and downloaded to your phone or printed off at home?
  • Yes we know that. Boarding passes were printed on 22nd Feb

    Do you mean 22nd January?

It sounds like you printed or downloaded your boarding passes at home before departure rather than collecting them at FCO airport as perhaps post #1 implies. Is that correct?

I am wondering if you have a subsequent flight change for the return sector FCO LGW after obtaining your boarding passes and either were not notified or missed the notification.

As you had a packaged arrangement with EasyJet Holidays it might be best to obtain their explanation over the different flight numbers first.  This could then lead into whether EU261/UK261 compensation is due or not.

  • They say ec261 isn’t due because us being denied access is outside their control. Clear nonsense and we are just being pushed from pillar to post in-the hope that we’ll get bored and go away .

ive a friend ,who’s a lawyer retired but now involved in administering the small claims process so very much thinking of going down that route .
