Thanks Gr1pr, The letter states that the call is mandatory, and there's no option to cancel it. Therefore, a 5-minute call won't harm me. :) thanks

This could include the judge automatically ruling in the other party’s favour or ordering you to pay for some or all the other party’s costs."

Yes but yours isn't mandatory if the date of the Claim form issue was before May 22nd. Was it?

    OK. Search the forum for:

    compulsory mediation waste good day

and change to NEWEST, but look for the post by me.  Shows you what to say in your 5 minutes that you bother to spend on this inappropriate rubbish.

You must attend but can pay lip-service to it.

Please tell us how it goes. We want to inform others and update the advice.

Hi all, I just had a call from the small claims mediation center. (5 min call)

My first question was why I received this appointment, considering my issue date occurred in May 7th. The lady on the phone confirmed that was correct and said an admin team member had mistakenly ticked the box for mediation in the system. She assured me that I didn't need to participate. I said that we could go ahead as I was curious about their offer.

She asked me to briefly describe my defense. I explained that the Defendant parked for less than five minutes, as proven by GPS location, and that the Defendant parked in an unmarked area that wasn't suitable for cars but wasn't a pedestrian space.

She then stopped me and asked if I was willing to accept any offers. I said yes and asked her to share them. Their offer was a reduced payment of £200. I countered by asking for payment for unpaid leave, (no deal)

Finally, she politely ended the call.

    Thank you and goodbye

    Congrats - you won!

    ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

Please could you help us by showing the NoD either here or on Umkomaas' DCB Legal discontinuances thread? I'm sure you are keen to be counted, as we show our evidence to the Government.
