ISA Allowance and transfer question

Hi,
I have £8000 (invested March 2023) in a 1 year fixed term cash ISA which matures this month.
I have not used any of my 23/24 allowance and believe .I have until 4th April to use it or lose it.
If I open a cash ISA with Virgin this week and invest £20,000 am I able to then transfer the £8000 from the maturing ISA into it so I’d have £28000 in total in there? If yes, is there a way I need to do this so that it doesn’t use up my 23/24 allowance.

Yes you can. When you open the Virgin cash there will be an option to add new money or to transfer from another cash ISA, or both at the same time.
