Thanks everyone Ive told her how to post it but what happens if they say they didn't get it will the royal mail insurance pay out?
As long as she has paid for the right level of cover.
Or the item is delivered, and the buyer decides it was an empty box....

I will only sell items like that face-to-face now, its too easy for the buyer to say - the iPad doesn't work, or wasn't in the box that was delivered etc etc...
Its just as bad selling face to face I used to sell on fb marketplace and gumtree the amount of scammers and timewasters is insane these days

If the item never shows as delivered, and I assume this went special delivery which should show full tracking, then a claim can be made against RM. Obviously if tracking shows as delivered then a claim would be near impossible regardless what buyer says, but tracking to delivery would cover them against an INR claim anyway.

Again, the item is tracked / delivered, no question, however the buyer decides that nothing was in the delivered box, reports to Ebay, The seller sent an empty box / or the seller says iPad is damaged in post / refund me please...

This was a genuine case / where an empty box was actually sent / the buyer received a full refund / however, anyone can copy this format

The whole tracking / insurance is a waste of time if the buyer simply claims there wasn't an iPad

I have my fingers crossed the buyer is genuine / isn't a scammer / and the transaction goes through ok....

No wonder sellers are leaving eBay they have no protection and end up losing out to scammers! I only hope the buyer is genuine 🤞

In my experience buyers with low feedback have been okay and I've worried too especially when the accounts have only been opened the day before, but I think people do that sometimes when they see something they want but aren't on eBay yet. I think you can actually change your settings to only allow buyers with a certain amount of feedback or just cancel their order sometimes but if you do that too much your seller standard drops which has some sort of impact.
Don't trust buyers who regularly leave other people lots of negative feedback complaining that nothing ever seems to arrive at their house or flat and everything they seem to buy is problematic but from sellers who don't have bad reputations.
You can usually tell by the same tone in which they all complain each & every time compared to people leaving genuine bad feedback, usually to WOB.  :D
  • An update on my friend the buyer has left her good feedback phew!
