does this only work if you are changing both gas and electric to powergen?

i'm already a powergen (electric) customer and not sure if it's working when i go through the currys link?

how do you know if it's worked?? ???

This Curry's deal is for new customers only, and you have to switch both fuels to qualify.
  • Hi

Phew, this thread is long and it's getting late. Would someone check if what I'm saying below is correct?

If I switch via greasypalm I will get £7.50 from greasypalm + £30 cashback from Powergen + 1,000 Tesco clubcard points.

If I switch via Curry's website I will get £40 in vouchers + 1,000 Tesco clubcard points.

    Is this correct?

    Thanks

  • The £30 (£15 each for gas & electricity) cashback from Powergen/greasypalm is only for the more expensive tariffs (EnergySavingPlan or Capped).

The Curry's offer (either £40 in vouchers or a £50 Freeview box) is for going onto any Powergen tariff (including the cheapest - EnergyOnLine).

All Powergen customers get Tesco Points (1 per £ spent on their bills).

If you switch on-line to Powergen they give you an extra 500 Tesco points for each service you take. You would get these extra 1000 points if you went via either Currys or a cashback site.

    Hope this helps.
  • Many thanks Smartasss

Great post, just joined energyonline using the Currys website.

By the time these vouchers arrive the DAB radios should be down to £40 - vouchers can be far more fun than cashback!

    Ciao

Well, a great big thank you to both this "superb, what would we have done with out it website! ;D ;D" and smartasss. ;D
I have just saved £202 by switching to Powergen online.

On top of that I get clubcard points and a free "freeview" box.

    Many thanks to all.

Ps For those who are still wondering. . . DO IT!!!
It is really simple and very quick to fill out the form.

I switched under the currys £40 deal but didn't have my clubcard details to hand at the time.  Subsequently have put my clubcard number onto my online details and emailed them to ask when the 1000 points get added.  Got the following reply

"I can confirm that because you are entitled to a £40 Curry's voucher, you are not entitled to the 1000 Tesco clubcard points as well. However you will still receive a point for every pound you spend with us."

This contradicts the original posting and I just wondered if anyone can offer any advice.
  • Hi purplepatch

The extra 1000 points wasn't mentioned on the Curry's deal, but we discovered that they were being given when the confirmation letters were being received - see tk's post:
recently changed using this offer and got letter from powergen telling me i have received 1000 tesco clubcard points for swapping

It may be you had to input your clubcard details at the time of applying to get these "bonus" points.

Has anyone received their voucher from Curry's for the Digital box/£40 yet?
I have emailed them acouple of times now and heard zilch!
You would think that if a company wishes to deal on the internet that they would answer emails and not just ignore them!
    They will regret it! >:(
This has been a poorly handled offer from the start in my opinion!
The last I saw of any offer was when I clicked from the Curry's site. After that there was no mention or confirmation forthcoming at all. >:(
