How much phone data do you use?

I've been with Sky for the past 2 years with their free 100MB allowance, and it was fine 95% of time for WhatsApp and Google Maps while driving.
WiFi at home, WiFi at work, there's a lot of WiFi in many restaurants etc. and if I didn't have anything I enjoyed mobile free time while outside.
As they increased the price I moved to Lebara 3GB and that's too much, old habits remained.1 -
I use about 90Gb a month (get 125Gb for £18).
I enjoy listening to music and podcasts while out, walking, or exercising. I don't watch many videos.
That amount means I don't have to worry about data0 -
According to my 'phone, I have used a whopping 4.63 MB this month, and I have 3 days left to use the rest of my 2GB.I never play on my 'phone when I am outside the house.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

GDB2222 said:I have recently bought a pay monthly sim for my phone that has 12 gb of data per month. After 4 days use, I have only used 130 mb. We have Wi-Fi at home, so the phone data is only used when out.
I haven’t yet watched any films. If I did would that push up the data used a lot?Where would you be watching a film without WiFi? Camping in a field perhaps?I have a PAYG SIM and for £5 I get 30 days unlimited calls and text, plus 3GB of data. I only use Google maps and WhatsApp when away from WiFi, so will only get through a few hundred MB in a month. I do tend to buy such a bundle every month as calls are expensive otherwise.Mobile data is always on, so it will use it whenever WiFi is not available.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. According to O2 I have averaged 7.29Gb per month over the last year. I pay for 30Gb. It costs me a dizzying £8 per month for that. I could pay less to get less but, I don’t feel it’s worth it/as good value (£/Gb) to go lower. Gets me EU roaming as well, which is a rare commodity these days.0

typical month i'll use about 20 - 30 GB , however i tend to stream music in the car, do use mapping and nav quite a bit and have Work Email and Reference apps on my personal device (we are semi BYOD in that less secure work stuff like email / reference texts / rostering we can have on own device but client identifiable is on the works devices only) . if i go away likely to use more rather than pay for wifi where i;m staying as i have more in my package0

I'm like you in that with WiFi I hardly use any data, but I like having it there incase my internet connection ever goes down and I have to tether for a few hours (hopefully not longer than that!)0

Streaming video will use around 1gb an hour.
I generally use less than 10gb a month when at home or working (as connected to wifi most of the time).
But when travelling, I can easily use 80-100gb a month, particularly if using the laptop (which uses data far faster than a handheld device).1 -
pseudodox said:I pay £5 per month for 4GB - have never in over 2 years ever used much more than 1GB, but I got the 4GB deal for LESS than 2GB deal. Go figure! Only ever use data when out & about to check emails, WhatsApp, maps for hiking routes & occasional geocaching or tourism info & to avoid logging into local open WiFi.1

While in UK, I use less than 50Mb per month. When I am in China, it's a good bit more than that because there public (and not public) wifi is poor and unreliable, so I am using mobile data, and I also need it for payments and translation. When I am on the Continent, I tend to use mobile data more. But I figured out that 3 hours on Zoom eats less than 300MB! As I use only Open Street Maps for navigation (offline, downloaded to my phone), I have never used more than 3GB per month...
