No-one is living in the property and there has not been anyone living in it since the sale was agreed upon almost 6 months ago. I have also been free to move since day one, that's why my opinion of the whole home-buying process is that it can be utterly ridiculous in terms of how long it takes. Why on earth are we at 6 months and counting, when the seller and buyer were technically free to do the deal 6 months ago? Ridiculous.
If they are still dragging their feet by EOW week they will be told I want a definite date by the end of the month or I will be looking elsewhere. And I think that is very generous of me considering the level of disrespect they are showing.0 -
Talk to the EA and start viewing other properties. Little point in letting matters fester inside. Keep your own options open by doing something which is potentially positive.0

I went and viewed another apartment tonight and I love it so much I will make an offer tomorrow when the estate agent calls me for my thoughts. I just need to try and reel myself in a bit and not get too attached to this new place in case I don't win any potential bidding situation.
The perfect outcome would be that I get the place for the exact same figure I am buying the other place for (126k) but I think I'd be willing to go a little higher to 128k or 130k.
If I get a sale agreed on this new place I would immediately withdraw from the original apartment and instruct my solicitor accordingly. Of course, I'll have to go through the whole underwriting process and stuff, but whatever.
We'll see what happens!!0
