What's the scam here?  How has someone profited from losing your key?  Unless they were also the Uber driver and/or new key supplier?

Sounds to me like a mistake or incompetence, not something the comparison site could do anything about, unless it was a regular occurrence.

Last year I purchased parking with a meet and greet company based around Gatwick airport to park my vehicle while I was away. Unfortunately on our return, the company we parked with had lost our key which meant we had to take an Uber home we also had to fork out a substantial amount of money to have the key fob replaced from the manufacturer. It was essentially a scam. I have been trying to find information about the company we parked with "365 parking Gatwick" or "365 valet Gatwick" however it seems the company has now closed and set up again under a different name. Therefore I am seeking to make a MCOL claim against the price comparison site through which I was introduced to this unscrupulous company which is "www.comparetheparking.co.uk".

Can I please get some advice? It would be greatly appreciated. Like how are companies able to suddenly disband and set up under a different guise? How is a seeming reputable company like compare the parking allowing such unscrupulous people to list their services on the website.

    Thanks in advance.
In what way was it a scam?

Did they possibly attempt to steal OP’s car?

If they had, I'm sure the OP would have mentioned it.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a predilection to shout 'scam' when it's actually not a scam.

Let your insurers sort it out. You don't need to run around finding out details of their insurers.
  • my insurance its not taking responsibility because i wasn't driving
they telling me clam in ther insurance

But it's your car that they've insured.  If someone drove into your car while it was parked and you weren't with it, it would be insured.

Is your insurer fully aware of all the details?  Are they declining to get involved because handing the car and key to a third party breaches your terms, or something like that?
