Is there anyway that "Scam" can be a word that is blocked from thread titles?
As it is tedious to see it so often & they are never a scam, just people not reading what they were signing up to.
Also a thought for a article by the team.
Warning people about the dangers of using social media for purchases. To make sure that they fully read the T/C, who the companies are & where they are based. They for a large % of posts in certain sections.
Example.

I don't think most words should be banned (swear words perhaps the exception) because sometimes things are actually scams - or people want to check if they are scams.
As for warnings about using social media for purchases - there are so many warnings already but I agree that some people still need to be reminded about this. Even the OH who was on a legit site yesterday came and asked me why, if there was a postage charge noted, was there a warning on the site about import duty. As in "why isn't that included in the postage charge?" Even though he'd already clocked that it was a non UK site he didn't know that he would be charged fees to bring an item into the UK.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. I agree with the OP about the use of 'scam' when it's more a case of not reading things.
As for warnings about buying stuff via links on social media, I think some people see what they regard as a bargain (rather than too good to be true) and go ahead anyway. Regardless of how many warnings are given.
A set of Le Creuset for only postage cost?
I read on another thread that someone followed a link to a fake Mountain Warehouse website and even they thought the prices were too good to be true, they still went ahead with the purchase.

I don't think "scam" should be banned, but anyone calling something a scam that is not is against forum rules so should be deleted once reported.
