2 recalls on brand new car now towed away
Comments

I rejected my brand new car before 30 days, broke down twice and had to be towed away, then found out 2 recalls on vehicle. Have evidence of all. Phoned trading standards and they told me what to do, completed form for finance company and the dealer. No response yet from dealer but finance company have just emailed to say they have received the complaint and will answer within 6 weeks. What am I meant to do about a car? Is there a way of them getting round this and making me take the car back?

You have to wait for finance co to do their investigation if dealer will not take it back.Life in the slow lane1 -
I have a hire car at the minute and it's going to cost a fortune if I have to wait 8 weeks 😞0

If your rejection is successful you will get back the amount you have paid. In practice that often equates to the part-ex value you were given for your previous car.
You are of course free to travel around by any means of your choice - walk, cycle, bus, taxi, etc. Private hire is just one of many options. Can you work from home?
They can refuse your rejection. It is not just your decision, all parties must agree. Unfortunately if neither the trader nor the finance accept your rejection and you have to take them to court you will wait much longer than 8 weeks.0 -
Have you considered (and can you afford) to buy a "banger" to tide you over for a few weeks/months? It'll be much cheaper than hiring a car. Otherwise it's looking at pubic transport, taxis, cycling or walking to keep the cost down.Nervsmomma2022 said:I have a hire car at the minute and it's going to cost a fortune if I have to wait 8 weeks 😞0
