2 recalls on brand new car now towed away

I bought a brand new electric citroen in Feb from dealer few issues last 2 weeks then had rac out to fix on Thursday 2 hours later it went again and had to be towed away by Rac. Now found out there are 2 recalls on the car (1 is safety and the other software). What rights do I have if I don't want the car back?

Took my sister down with me on Friday afternoon when I was collecting courtesy cay and the girl from servicing said they would have been fixed at time I bought it but it's just taken the paperwork time to go through but I wasn't even told about the recalls

Many "Recalls" are only service bulletins.

So you need to check here for actual recalls

    https://www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-recall

Anything else is just internal & often is done @ service time.

    Why did it need towing?

If you can be more specific about what the "few issues" are and why the car needed to be towed, then it may be possible for the forum to give more specific advice about appropriate next steps and any rights that you may have.  Not every fault, even on a brand new car, is right to reject.

Just to clarify, the car was brand new February this year, 2024?

And if so, specifically when in February, i.e. was it within the last 30 days, which would keep the short term right to reject on the table?

To add to that "brand new" means the OP was first registered keeper?
Not a "brand new" delivery miles car that was pre-registered before, say December?

Isthat relevant to the short-term right to reject?

    Possibly not.
It still helps to have a full understanding of the situation.  Hopefully, the OP will be back online and able to shed light on what the issues were, why the car was towed, what the recall notes relate to, are the recall notes connected to the "issues", etc.
  • It was the showroom car but I bought it as brand new, how do I know if it was pre registered? I signed for the car agreement on 12th Feb.  It stopped letting my phone connect, switched to km n stuff n I couldn't get back but now realised this could have been due to an update while I had car. Issue charging one day but it never happened again so I thought it was just a fluke.

On Thursday 7th March it wouldn't disconnect from the public charger I was at, then a load of warning lights came on. Rac came out fixed the warnings and said an over air update at some point last week mightnt have gone through right.

They fixed it there and then told me to drive it for 10 miles to see if the update would complete then charge it and arrive to have the updates checked with citroen.

I took it out for a drive, back to charger and it still wouldn't charge and warning lights back up again. Phoned citroen and they told me not to drive and get it towed as they couldn't guarantee it would be okay on motorway.

I took a photo of the front of 2 recalls at citroen as I asked for them but she wouldn't let me have them with me  I'll attach the photos
  • This  is the photos I got from citroen papwrwork

If it was a pre-reg it would have already been taxed and plated when you viewed it. And it should have been lower priced, (anything up to 20%) as you would be the second owner.
How can you not know if was a pre-reg? If not it would have been taxed by the dealer when you collected it and the cost added to your invoice.
