1pmobile sim only top up?
I was about to order the 30 day sim only offer with 25GB, unlimited calls & texts for £10 a month but it adds a £10 joining top up to the basket. The blurb says they'll collect the £10 automatically so you don't need to keep topping up so would I be paying the £10 joining top up then another £10 for the first 30 days, or is the joining 'top up' the payment for the first 30 days?
I tried to contact them but the link on their site gave me an error message (might be my mobile's fault).

From what I remember you order the SIM and have to pay the £10 top up. When it arrives though and you activate the sim you can then use your £10 credit to buy the 25gb data boost. Make sure your WiFi is on though, if data on it will use some of your credit and you won't have enough for the boost.

If you know anyone who already uses them they can use refer a friend and you both get £5 credit. I don't think I can post mine on here though as against rules. Also their customer service is only Monday to Friday so if you tried to contact them today that may be why you got an error message.
I've been with them since May last year and love the fast EE speeds etc without having to be in a long contract with price increases. You can change your data boost as well if you need more or less.1 -
I think I'm confused by them calling it a sim only deal then talking about credit & topping up. I suppose I would be buying the bundle every 30 days? If I were to get £5 credit for using a referral code what am I supposed to use it for if I already have unlimited calls/texts & 25gb data? It seems like a waste. I'm a bit put off by the lack of customer service on a weekend but I really need to be on EE as it's the only one that works well enough so I will contact them on Monday & see what they say.

(1) I think my 25GB was preloaded and activated on day of delivery.
(2) Next boost, 30 days later if on auto reoccur, is best purchased from stored payment method (though don’t tick auto top-up if you don’t need extras outside boost)
(3) if you manually buy a boost you can lose a few pence in the downtime between boosts and essentially dead money. (Unless have more than £10 credit)
(4) Downside of 1pm is poor customer service. Lucky if you get a reply. Upside is the price and signal availability
(5) When you add a payment method it does a £1 test purchase which adds to your balance.0 -
The credit would sit on your account, then if you referred someone and got another £5 credit you'd have enough to pay for your next £10 boost. Although it's called credit by 1p it can be used to buy data boosts, not just for payg, although you need enough to pay for it all and not £5 in credit on your account and £5 credit card. Hopefully that makes sense. I've always found live chat the best way to contact them. Also yes you buy the bundle (data boost) every 30 days. You can set it to auto recur or do it yourself.0
