solicitor compliance as a cash buyer

I had an offer accepted as a cash buyer , however my solicitor requires statement for every movement of funds since selling my last property.
Due to moving funds into various savings accounts and closing them, this has proved difficult.
Nationwide is the big problem, I have three times requested a specific statement which hasnt arrived and its now been over 2 months.
Neither branch or call centre can print me off  a copy  all requests have to go to head office dept to print and send in the post  , supposedly in 10 days, but I have not had the one I need. The post is ok as I have received other stuff including unwanted nationwide letters!
Solicitor wont budge and needs to see the statements.
So I am holding up the sale and wondering if this is not meant to be.
Should I pull out until I am in a better position, I never knew I would have such a problem when I made the offer.

Being a cash buyer if anything puts greater duty on the solicitor to verify your source of funds. If you had a mortgage it's easy - your funds come from the bank/lender.
Your 'cash' could come from people smuggling or drugs or whatever so your solicitor is following the money-trail./....

My mate had trouble with nationwide as well. She requested them and one came saying she had no transactions in 3 years, which wasn't true. The other didn't come at all 🤦‍♀️
The solicitor relaxed the requirements afterwards and accepted only 6 months statements as she was never going to get it before the seller pulled out

Have you tried making a complaint to Nationwide? Might make somebody pay attention.

Are you near one of their main offices?  Swindon, Northampton, Bournemouth

Would it be worth you time to go to one and ask where your flipping statements are? (but politely obviously)

Otherwise send them a complaint and tell them that you are being financially inconvenienced by their inability to provide what should be basic info that simply requires someone to hit a print button.  Suggest that you might be sending them your solicitor bills to settle (which gives a level of "financial inconvenience")

We bought a flat with cash and had a similar predicament to yourselves.  The money was from an inheritance and had been split up and moved around.  I got as many statements as I could (luckily none of the money had gone into my Nationwide account!) and also took the letter from the solicitor  about the inheritance.  They were not terribly happy even with this (because I could not account for the exact sum) but reluctantly accepted it in the end because the inheritance was for more than the sum required.

so i finally received the savings statement and now can see that i transferred the money back to a current account nearly a year ago. this current accout is now closed. so i need another statement.
i have tried filling in this form
    https://www.nationwide.co.uk/current-accounts/help/access-historical-statements/
but it says it cannot find my details despite it all being correct. i am close to giving up with this purchase as to get the current account statement could take another 2/3 weeks alone and im not sure where i sent the money after that!!!!

You'd think given Nationwide dealt in mortgages themselves, they'd have a better system! Well I remember waiting endlessly for post that didn't come, it be re-sent to find it was the statement we already had, to being told they couldn't supply us with an up-to-date statement as we hadn't made any transactions since the last one(?)
