Is switching my mobile number notice of cancellation?
I have recently switched mobile provider to a new sim only deal and had understood that the act of switching was sufficient notice of cancellation to my old provider. Is that right or should I have done something else to cancel?I have cancelled my monthly direct debit which I would have thought would incentivise them to provide me with my final bill but I am yet to receive it over 7 weeks since I switched.I have in the meantime written to my provider requesting a final bill but have so far received no response.

If you used a PAC then yes, it should terminate the previous contract.1

Yes, when your number ports to the new provider, service with the old one terminates.Cancelling your direct debit was a bad idea, your credit file can be trashed when they try to take take final payment (and refund for unused period), and cannot.Evolution, not revolution2
