NW and NE are at right angles, so I would guess that if you can determine that the right fence is NW, then NE must be the rear fence.  Not sure why they couldn't be bothered to draw in the letter "T" to avoid any doubt.
NE is the right fence, NW the rear.
directionally, it doesn't actually make any sense as the left and right fence are parallel, so they are both NE if you look at the compass!

No, it's the compass points relative to the position of the property, not the orientation of the fences. NE is towards the top of the page from the property, NW is towards the left of the page. The fence on the left would be basically West.

that doesn't make any more sense to me!  do you agree that it is the right and rear fences that I am responsible for, looking at my front door from the street?

seems odd that you arent "responsible" for the SE fence line (front of the house) since its not shared with anyone

    In the pic below...

    • the yellow dotted fence is your North East fence (as well as being the fence on your right when you face the front door)
    • the red dotted fence is your North West fence (as well as being the fence at the rear of your garden)

    Hi,

Note that in general, positive covenants are not enforceable.  It is unlikely that anyone can force you to maintain the fences.

Of course, if the fence is dangerous then you need to make it safe, but removing it and not replacing it would be a valid course of action if it suited you.
