Nationwide have sent voting links for their upcoming Annual General Meeting on 17 July. Vote 'Against' to all items on the AGM. If enough people vote negatively in the AGM not only would the message get across but it may force some action.

This is a forum where people have differing views on many subjects, including this one. So your demand that people for 'Against' everything should be balanced with:

• Or, if you agree with the various proposals, vote For.
• Or, if you don't have a strong view on some or all, Abstain on those
• Or, if you can't be bothered or don't understand what is best (which will be most people) don't do anything.

Happy to report that my wife and I have voted for the first time motivated by the 'efforts' of some noisy members on here.

What if I want to vote 'For' on the ballots? Is that ok with you?

Or perhaps a better alternative would be for people to review the items on the agenda themselves and then make their own decision on how to vote for based on their individual views.

Jumping on a bandwagon of blindly voting against all proposals because some random person on the internet says so doesn’t really sound like it’s in the spirit of the mutual model to me.

*nods* Another first-time voter (I'm that guy that always thinks he *should* vote at Building Society and Credit Union AGMs etc, but never gets round to it) here, again motivated to vote by 'noise', and I think this takeover is a good thing. Mutuals are a good thing, I think they're better than banks, so I'm happy to see Nationwide grow. I'm saying the same thing about the Coventry/Co-op deal too. I speak as an account-holder with all four of the organisations involved.
