Unlimited mobile data sim advice

I unexpectedly moved to a new house on Tuesday and urgently need a mobile data SIM to be able to work from home. Today, I tried a Smarty Mobile PAYG data sim (unlimited plan), but the 4G speeds at my new house were terrible (wasn't able to work at all), despite the online coverage checker indicating that 4G speeds would be good to excellent for my postcode.
Next on my list to try is Vodafone, who also claim to have a good to excellent 4G signal for my postcode.
On MSE, I noticed that Asda offers unlimited PAYG data plans on the Vodafone network, but I don't have time to wait for the card to be delivered.
Can I simply go to an Asda store tonight, pick up any Asda SIM card, and then apply for one of their unlimited PAYG Data plans? P.s. I have a job that involves transferring large files and requires a lot of bandwidth (anywhere from 2-5 GB per day), so I really need something with unlimited data.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Most of the supermarkets will have SIM cards for sale at the checkout, from all the major operators. If you need an unlimited SIM for tomorrow, drive to the supermarket and take your pick from the ones on offer. It might not be the absolute cheapest deal but you'll be up and running before bedtime.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile.
