Ultra Fibre now installed - but which provider?

Openreach were around last week to fit Ultra Fibre to the flats in my building and today I received an email from them saying it is now ready.

However, if I try the MSE comparison, my address is still showing as unavailable.

If I go direct to the Sky website they say it's available for £33/month at 500 mb/s and 900mb/s for £43 a month.

For those who have these kinds of speeds, is there a clear winner in terms of who to go with?

Generally speaking, the speed you get for a like for like Openreach package should be the same on Full Fibre, and you’re focusing on customer service, price and contract length. Also fixed prices for the duration of the contract and after (no price rise during or after the contract ends) are available from sold firms.

Sky are 18 month contracts with a potential price increase starting this year. TalkTalk are 18 month contracts with CPI based increases. Vodafone is a 24 month contract with CPI based increases. BT have a 12 or 24 month contract with a CPI based increase next year (2025). Zen have a fixed price 18 month contract. The 900Mbps package is £55 a month. You could try IDNet which has 30 day, or 12 month contracts. The price on all these providers may go up when the contract ends as well.

May I suggest Aquiss Internet? They are a family business based in Shropshire providing broadband since 2005. The CEO himself also answers customers on the telephone line or email. Excellent customer service reviews according to the ISPreview page.

As for price, Sky are £43 a month for a Gigafast 900Mbps service on an 18 month contract with price increases during and an increase afterward.

Aquiss on the other hand offer their Pure Fibre 1000 package for £55 a month on a 12 month contract with ZERO price increase during or after your contract and no activation fee. Furthermore, looking at their website, they seem to be offering a discount to those who sign up online of 6 months half price at £27.50. So your average monthly price works out to £41.25 a month.

I would suggest Aquiss if you’re interested in 900Mbps.
